Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children was the surprise best seller of 2011—an unprecedented mix of YA fantasy and vintage photography that enthralled readers and critics alike. Publishers Weekly called it “an enjoyable, eccentric read, distinguished by well-developed characters, a believable Welsh setting, and some very creepy monsters.”

This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the first book ended. Having escaped Miss Peregrine’s island by the skin of their teeth, Jacob and his new friends must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected surprises.

Complete with dozens of newly discovered (and thoroughly mesmerizing) vintage photographs, this new adventure will delight readers of all ages.

When passion is the perfect storm

Successful career woman Paxton Jones has come a long way from her dirt-poor roots–and the girl with an unrequited crush on high school football star Sawyer Robertson. Gauthier’s privileged golden boy was way out of her league…until one passion-filled night. But when a project close to her heart reunites them, Paxton has to rein in her still-smoldering feelings for the devastatingly handsome civil engineer.

Three years ago, Sawyer shared the most incredible night of his life with the woman he’d long admired. Afterward, Paxton left town without even saying goodbye. Now, thrown together on a mission to protect their vulnerable Louisiana community, they clash on everything–except their reigniting desire for each other. As disaster threatens and Sawyer and Paxton put aside their differences for a greater cause, will they find a love that can heal all wounds?

Thank you, Stefanie London, for recommending Farrah Rochon’s  incredible book, Stay with Me Forever (Bayou Dreams Book 6). 🙂 I couldn’t stop reading it! Last night – early this morning – I had to hide my Kindle Voyage so I could grab some zzz’s. I am going back for more tonight. Rochon’s prose is luxurious, lush, and lyrical. Rochon’s writing is as sharp as a sword. #WORD!

Kami Garcia/Unbreakable
Kami Garcia/Unbreakable

I never believed in ghosts. Until one tried to kill me.

When Kennedy Waters finds her mother dead, she doesn’t realize paranormal forces are responsible—not until mysterious identical twins, Jared and Lukas Lockhart break into Kennedy’s room and destroy a deadly spirit sent to kill her.

Kennedy learns that mother’s death was no accident, and now she has to take her place in the Legion of the Black Dove—a secret society formed to protect the world from a vengeful demon. A society left in the hands of a group of teens with unique skills: Jared, combat trained with a temper to match; Lukas, hacker and code breaker; Alara, whose attitude is as powerful as her voodoo protections wards; and Priest, an engineer capable of making weapons out of a soda can.

As the teens use their individual talents to battle paranormal entities, each earns their rightful place in the Legion—except for Kennedy, who is left wondering if she is truly one of them. Can she stay alive long enough to find out, without losing her heart in the process?

PROTECT YOURSELF. WHAT YOU CAN’T SEE CAN HURT YOU.
